Pride Center Flyer
Project information
O
ur collaboration with the Pride Center culminated in the creation of the official flyer, a powerful and multifaceted document aimed at not only informing but also inspiring the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. This project was motivated by a commitment to encapsulate the essence of the Pride Center and provide a holistic representation of its services, mission, and significance within the community.
At the core of the design was the color lavender, a neutral and universally recognized color within the LGBTQ+ community. Lavender serves as a symbol of unity, inclusivity, and acceptance. It transcends traditional gender identities and embodies the principle of embracing diversity. By incorporating lavender into the flyer’s design, we intended to communicate that the Pride Center is a space where individuals of all gender identities and orientations are welcomed, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding.
Additionally, the design was imbued with colors from the transgender pride flag, a choice made to signify the organization’s commitment to supporting and advocating for transgender and gender-diverse individuals. These colors, with their vibrant and meaningful symbolism, served as a visual representation of the Pride Center’s mission of inclusivity and empowerment.
Empowering messages were strategically interwoven into the flyer’s design, reinforcing the principles of self-acceptance, pride, and the importance of community support. These messages aimed to evoke a sense of unity and strength, reinforcing the idea that the Pride Center is not just a physical space but a source of empowerment for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
The flyer also featured an iconic building on Pasadena City College’s campus, a visual anchor that served to root the Pride Center within the context of its physical location. This element not only added a touch of familiarity for those on campus but also underlined the physical presence of the Pride Center as a beacon of support and acceptance.
